Thanks again to everyone who came out to the event! Meryl and I never expected so many people to show up!
Thanks to Josh at The Hexagon for being awesome, and dragging those couches out, such a good idea! The Hexagon regularly hosts art and music events, and there’s always great work on display. For those who had never visited before, or who missed the event, we definitely recommend heading back for a show or something. They’re a volunteer-run space and they’re definitely worth supporting. Check their website for more information on how to volunteer.
Thanks to Jesse Vaughan for being the designated photographer of the evening, and obviously not disappointing. “Nice” shots, “party pix” shots, wall portraits, animated GIFs… best ever! Jesse is a Baltimore-based graphic designer and photographer, and you can hire him! It’s 2009, so Jesse has a website, flickr, tumblr, and twitter.

Tomorrow night, November 22nd, from 8-11pm at the Hexagon. Come out, bring a bunch of alcohol (BYOB for 21+) and mingle with your new best friends and followers. Listen to acoustic mini-sets from some of your favorite local tumblr friends (like ppls and others), and to some epic music playlists (from matthewedwards and whoever else sent music to blue-monday).
It’s going to be so much fun and not awkward at all. Also, twoseconds will be on hand with his sweet camera skills so you can relive the night forever… better make it count!
It has been decreed that there will be a few short live acts at the meetup. We aren’t saying who yet, but trust us that you should be psyched! Also, we are still looking for probably one more act, so if you want to play or you know of a good candidate, let us know!
Also, after the sets we will probably just play DJ with our ipods, but in order to keep this democratic we are accepting submissions of short sets, 4-5 songs, from anyone that feels like it. These can be any songs you damn well please, but I guess try to keep the mood in mind. If we don’t get any, you can probably expect a lot of Lady Gaga remixes. So there’s some incentive.
